Art is a powerful tool with the purpose either of expressing the emotions of the artist, manipulating the emotions of the observer, or a combination of the two. Here I shall speak of art and nature in terms of aesthetic quality: what characteristics does superior art have? Is beauty in the eye of the beholder? Today would be Charles Darwin's 200th birthday. This seems to be overshadowed by the fact that today is also Abraham Lincoln's birthday. Darwin, however, certainly deserves some recognition.
