I may just be another innovative mind in this field, but I feel some credit is deserved here. I just got off the phone with a very dear friend of mine and we were discussing politics and religion. LOL! The 2 no no's of casual conversation. We agreed to disagree and yet we came to a very fundamental answer. Finding our similarities, not our differences....

If we are to progress as a species, as an intelligent animal, we need to focus all of our attention of finding these similarities. Even being an intellectual being, I still am fascinated by violence. Even as a celibate man, I still have a desire for companionship. Even being non-affiliated with politics and religion, they are still motivating forces in my life. I think as a race we've become fixated on things to separate us from others when in reality we all shit, eat, sleep, fuck, and die. Unless you make your mark on society and societies to come, you will not even make a ripple in the pond of life. But if we don't adhere to a higher consciousness we forfeit that ability.

I have things in common with women, men, babies, serial killers, lovers, fighters, convicts, rappers, philosophers, psychologists, artists, martyrs, leaders, and a crap ton of people. Today, I choose* to focus on my similarities, and not the things that further isolate me from others. Not in an effort to fit in or be accepted because I stay true to my convictions, but in an effort to help people realize how alike we all are. I'm not saying we are equal, that is not what I'm saying at all, what I'm saying is I can fucking relate. I can get down to that level of desperation, I can see it from the hobo's perspective. The "difference" (LOL!) is that I'm conscious of it, and people that dedicate their lives to nominal pursuits will forever be ignorant of it.

The government craves difference, it teaches us to classify ourselves into categories, our TV teaches us to separate ourselves into categories, our parents teach us to separate ourselves into categories, the whole fucking world teaches us to separate!!!! Instead of separate, why not integrate? I'll tell you why, because that person is not willing to find themselves mirrored in someone that they find despicable. They refuse to look in the mirror, see themselves for what they truly are. Afraid to confront the monster in the mirror, to rise above, to become something better.

You are conditioned to separate yourself. To break any cycle of behavior starts with introspektion followed up with a desire to change. The desire not to change is called complacency, or to be happy with sticking with what's comfortable out of convinience's sake. This is exactly why no decent social uprisings have taken place. because people are afraid to stand up for themselves, and in addition we have fostered an environement that allows people with money out of charges. I say swift justice for those wronged, let the families decide as long as there is evidence, NOT here say.

I was the only person at my job that wasn't afraid to lose it, and more than likely if I don't find a new job, I will go homeless again and kill myself. You know what? At least I can sleep at night knowing I didn't let scum bags rule my life, that I stood up for the most important person in my life. Me. If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything. If you don't make excuses to be different than other people, you will find more of yourself in others than initially realized.

Homework - I want everyone in here to actually take a look at their behavior over a weeks period and pinpoint people doing this. You will notice how easily conditioned people are to think of you as somehow different than themselves. And no, it is not human nature to do this, only unenlightened/primitive man.

It is ONLY a pipe dream because people are stupid. Can't fix stupid. There unfortunately is no cure or drug for dumb asses.

Actually leo, I would say there's a third side to this that integrates what both you and six said.

Why thank you. "The government craves difference, it teaches us to classify ourselves into categories, our TV teaches us to separate ourselves into categories, our parents teach us to separate ourselves into categories, the whole fucking world teaches us to separate!!!! Instead of separate, why not integrate? I'll tell you why, because that person is not willing to find themselves mirrored in someone that they find despicable. What six says in the above paragraph is true, people are conditioned to put themselves in neat little packages with the broken, damaged and flawed, or those percieved to be so being discarded, because by default and their conditioned minds they feel which is also implied to them that because they have all the right things, say all the right things, believe all the right things and like all the right things, even appear, or have the right image they're "god's special little creatures", while those who are termed the outcast and outsiders are shunned, ridiculed and despised all because they dont fit this "perfect' little image of what a person is "suppose" to be like.
This is where the difference, or seperating into categories come into play. More often than not when one of the beautiful people looks at the ugly duckling they see something within that duckling that they cant face in themselves; their own insecurities and issues they may have with themselves; their hangups,so they judge their hangups in that other person. Also and more importantly that categorisation is there for a purpose, namely to divide and conquer. If group a is set against group b with the latter group being dubbed the "enemy" that obviously creates division and contention among the two groups. within this conflict a hero emerges. The hero being of course societal leaders, who supposedly have the master plan to end the dissention. What is the master plan, you ask? Just as you said leo to unite, but not a uniting in a generalised sense, but rather a uniting of all those within the flock with all the socalled undesirables on a grand and lesser scale(those who dont fit the mold socially and globally) being ousted from this picture perfect greeting card of fantasy.
So the powers that be rally the sheep in the pen with talk of all the right things from the right product to own to what religion and political system they belong to. It's all about belonging with them; belonging in a system that is of ONE mind, religion, political affliation? and even consumer choices. It's about getting rid of the word I and instituting in it's place the word WE.(a reference to Ayn Rand's Anthem) they are trying to create one big collective body where they are always the brain moving that body. But remember the members of that body all have to be perfect with no flaws, meaning that all those deemed outcasts, freaks, weirdos, criminals and a "threat" to our national security are amputated from that body as they are seen and touted as infections so to speak. With the removal of that infection the way can be made clear for this collective oneness; E PLURIBUS UNIUM.

Well done.
And a good lead into something I was pondering this morning. Should we Satanists be a more agressive infection in the body?
Satanism has been accused of being a "reactive" philosophy rather than a "proactive" one. We bitch about the world but do very little to bring the Adversary to the marketplace. In contrast the Pastafarians (Church of The Flying Spaghetti Monster...http://www.venganza.org/ ) are out there getting in religion's face. Through the fine art of riddicule these people are in the shit while we quietly stroke our intellectual egos and pat ourselves on the back for not being like the herd.
Should the Satanist take a public stand against irrational beliefs and their possible introduction into classrooms and legislation? Or should we just watch, report, and bitch about it online? Should we be a nasty little bugger of an infection?

Hmmm, good question. There are two types of people in the world, those who act and those who sit on their hands. I would say the Pastafarians and dare I include the ONA have the right idea, they're out there making their mark letting their voices be heard and those who are worthy of the title satanist should infact be an aggressive force in the world. Afterall Satan in it's very semantics is about reactive aggressive change, you cant get that reaction with lovey dovey sit-ins,demonstrations and you most certaintly cant get it with bitching and moaning. Instead one must have that revolutionary spirit that caused satan himself to fight against the ultimate paradigm of oppression. As long as those things like irrational beliefs are infiltrating the schools, granted one have kids of their own in those schools and lgislations being made which in fact affects an individual personaly as this is where they reside should most definetly be stood against. At the sametime the proper issue must be tackled, I mean let's face it religion more or less has become old news and politics have become the new religion, meaning that political issues have taken up where religion has left off. Politics have taken up the torch at least in the modern western arena. Being a nasty little bugger is the only way to get the job done. At the sametime I would say watching and reporting to fellow satanists is what will keep them abreast as to the reality of things instilling a desire if you will for change. Whose gonna run this town tonite? The short answer: we are.

The kind of Revolution I'm talking about would take a whole lot more people than just me. I would act, in fact, in a way I act here by spreading the seed of knowledge and awareness. It all starts with being aware of "why" you do things as opposed to acting on impulse. Although some people enjoy confrontation and drama, but it's these people that complicate everything else for little or no reason other than boredom. There is no reason to be bored with life and so complacent that you don't wish to change.

To think about and to question why we do the things we do is a great exercise in learning about ourselves. However, actually intellectualizing one's own behavior is like looking for a money tree. A futile endeavor with a less than likely outcome. In order to properly analyze ourselves we have to remove all psychological elements from our thinking. Majority of people are driven by their emotions. "I feel this way so I think this way." That's hardly intellectual revolution and I wish the best of luck to those who try to look at themselves objectively. The revolution that you're talking about Six, is one that few would be able to ride the wave with you. Becoming aware of one's self is only part of the solution to an even bigger problem, which is not being aware of what is outside of one's self. I realize the importance of the sub-religion I call MEism, within satanism. I hear a lot of "I'm just me." Like that somehow makes you different all of a sudden. If you have purple hair, that makes you stand out, but not different. If you have visible piercings in odd places, that makes you stand out, but not different. The only thing that really makes us different from each other is our ideas and perspectives. The topic is called world peace, and it seems to me that the only way to achieve peace of any kind is for everyone to learn the difference between acceptance and tolerance. It is always easier to accept similarities than it is to tolerate differences. But you don't have to accept anyone or anything to tolerate it or them. Peace happens when we agree to disagree. Of all the people I admire most, it is with those whom I have not always seen eye to eye. It's unfortunate that more people can't see it this way. As for revolution itself, one must realize the element needed for a successful revolution. That element is fear; the fear of losing something of value if a change doesn't occur, or the gaining of something wanted or unwanted if a change doesn't occur. I hear many people, especially satanists, say they aren't afraid of anything. From my perspective, those that are afraid of nothing will do nothing. My work as a satanist is subtle. My goals differ from many. I believe in bettering myself and the community I live in. My name is probably on a list somewhere, written in red ink and highlighted because I write letters to my state and have called the White House on more than one occassion. I've been asked by other satanists why I care and I just smile. Americanism is satanism and the highest form of patriotism is dissent. :)
