I may just be another innovative mind in this field, but I feel some credit is deserved here. I just got off the phone with a very dear friend of mine and we were discussing politics and religion. LOL! The 2 no no's of casual conversation. We agreed to disagree and yet we came to a very fundamental answer. Finding our similarities, not our differences....

If we are to progress as a species, as an intelligent animal, we need to focus all of our attention of finding these similarities. Even being an intellectual being, I still am fascinated by violence. Even as a celibate man, I still have a desire for companionship. Even being non-affiliated with politics and religion, they are still motivating forces in my life. I think as a race we've become fixated on things to separate us from others when in reality we all shit, eat, sleep, fuck, and die. Unless you make your mark on society and societies to come, you will not even make a ripple in the pond of life. But if we don't adhere to a higher consciousness we forfeit that ability.

I have things in common with women, men, babies, serial killers, lovers, fighters, convicts, rappers, philosophers, psychologists, artists, martyrs, leaders, and a crap ton of people. Today, I choose* to focus on my similarities, and not the things that further isolate me from others. Not in an effort to fit in or be accepted because I stay true to my convictions, but in an effort to help people realize how alike we all are. I'm not saying we are equal, that is not what I'm saying at all, what I'm saying is I can fucking relate. I can get down to that level of desperation, I can see it from the hobo's perspective. The "difference" (LOL!) is that I'm conscious of it, and people that dedicate their lives to nominal pursuits will forever be ignorant of it.

The government craves difference, it teaches us to classify ourselves into categories, our TV teaches us to separate ourselves into categories, our parents teach us to separate ourselves into categories, the whole fucking world teaches us to separate!!!! Instead of separate, why not integrate? I'll tell you why, because that person is not willing to find themselves mirrored in someone that they find despicable. They refuse to look in the mirror, see themselves for what they truly are. Afraid to confront the monster in the mirror, to rise above, to become something better.

You are conditioned to separate yourself. To break any cycle of behavior starts with introspektion followed up with a desire to change. The desire not to change is called complacency, or to be happy with sticking with what's comfortable out of convinience's sake. This is exactly why no decent social uprisings have taken place. because people are afraid to stand up for themselves, and in addition we have fostered an environement that allows people with money out of charges. I say swift justice for those wronged, let the families decide as long as there is evidence, NOT here say.

I was the only person at my job that wasn't afraid to lose it, and more than likely if I don't find a new job, I will go homeless again and kill myself. You know what? At least I can sleep at night knowing I didn't let scum bags rule my life, that I stood up for the most important person in my life. Me. If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything. If you don't make excuses to be different than other people, you will find more of yourself in others than initially realized.

Homework - I want everyone in here to actually take a look at their behavior over a weeks period and pinpoint people doing this. You will notice how easily conditioned people are to think of you as somehow different than themselves. And no, it is not human nature to do this, only unenlightened/primitive man.

It is ONLY a pipe dream because people are stupid. Can't fix stupid. There unfortunately is no cure or drug for dumb asses.

Sorry! LOL! Aggressive Stoner Philosophy :P

You get the idea, picking out people that do it and seeing yourself do it are interesting things. Most humans aren't even aware of "why" they do things. That is interesting because that mental ability and a few others are what drastically changes us from an animal and that of a unique species. Maybe I should take a sociology class? Hmmmmm.......

To be aware of of why one and others do things call for a certain level of awareness that the majority of people doesnt have. I would go so far as to boast that I'm among the few that can observe and question what makes people do what they do and find the answer. Is that a consequence of being introverted, a certain degree of intelligence,or the ability to see through the fog? Yes, it's all of the above if you ask me. What's more I would add to be in control of the self and all that includes being aware and in control of all aspects of the mind; concious, subconcious and unconcious. In essence this is just what meditation does bringing the mind as a whole under the control of the individual. A person is motivated by the subconscious half of the mind this is why the have no idea of why they do what they do, because it's not in their conscious awareness, but if they have the reigns on the subconscious awareness comes to fruition and they can not only be aware, but also in complete control of themselves. It's easy but not so easy to bring the subconscious into awareness thus being in control of what's normally automatic. I hope I explained this right, because this is something that cant really be put into words. Thus, the reason it's called esoteric.

I believe the opposite is true. We are being conditioned to be of one mind. One government, one religion, who are the good guys and who are the bad guys. They try to tell us that one bread is better than the other and so on.
Many of us have doned the mantle of Satan for this very reason, to step away from social conditioning. We question things that "They" do not want us to question. We see the "Great and Powerful Oz" for what it is. That is why many of us are thorns and social outcasts.

No Leo, you know just as well as I do that satanists do the same thing. They proclaim themselevs Satanists to stand apart, to proclaim themselves different. Moral absoultes are found in TSB as well as the Holy Bible. A few of the core values from each book are similar.

Moral absolutes in TSB? I think not. Guidelines for civil behavior yes but the Divine threat of Hellfire tickling your ass cheeks if don't comply, no. Remeber also Modern Satanism is a matter of connection, not change or conversion.

Totally missed you with that did I? Moral Absolutes; Don't kill, Don't steal, etc...

Again guidelines, not absolutes. Do we have similar concepts with other philosophies? Absolutely. Does that make us "one with the body"? No.
A Christian needs water, so does a Satanist does that put us all on the same page?

This is another huge thing I have wrong with Satanism. It doesn't allow you to find fault within its philosophy, because if you deviate, you are suddenly so much less Satanic than everyone else. I say who gives a shit. If you don't define what is good/right in your world, you allow yourself to become swayed by any ole person with enough charisma to hold your attention. Much of this has already been elaborated on with the philosophy that I actually got from Riddick, but it made a ton of sense. "If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything."

Isn't it a whole lot more rewarding to know that you were passionate about something instead of falling for other people's charms?

So riddle me this, how do you feel about someone offing one of your friends for no good reason? That would piss me off! If you say it depends on blah blah blah....and trail off into some amoral BS, then you are saying you're ambivalent to the death of a loved one. That aint nuthin else except for Cold Hearted. You my friend would be a LaVey essay called, "The Living Dead."

Even as a celibate man I still have passions.

I'm not sure if it's the Discordian in you or the Satanist, but one thing is for certain Leo, you are fixated on being different. When I say that I'm not saying to stop, or conform, or fall in line, I'm simply saying this belief structure is exactly what I'm talking about in this thread. If we were, as a species, to rise above our PETTY differences and advance together, we could accomplish feats un-imaginable! You sell me, yourelf, and those around you short. You're a smart cookie, now start acting like one :P

What you and I considder "petty" the world does not and one of the biggest problems that is on the table is who owns the copyright to God (religion) an area that both Satanism and Discordianism are trying (or should be trying) to do away with. There is also racism, nationalism, greed, and good ole evil blocking the drain as well for your Utopian society.
There is a line somewhere in the "about" section of the Sinagogue of Satan page that calls for time when Satanism is no longer necessary. I'm all for that but today isn't that day.

Where can I find that essay the living dead?

Reply to This

I'm not sure. I'll have to google his essays to see which book it's in. I have stacks of books on Satanism, 2 of which are all essays. It's either in Devil's Notebook, or in Gimore's book The Satanic Scriptures.... but I'm almost positive it was LaVey because he was big on people not drudging through life, to actually realize their human potential. Those who waste it are the walking dead, but they argue with you because they have lost the ability to introspect.
