I would say yes and no.

Yes because they are actually a yahoo group, or an institution which has it's foundation or core essence in the medium of the internet.

No because although they maybe based on the cyber medium, the Joy of Satan (aside from having crazy teachings) actually have meditations, quasi-kundalini exercises, and rites their individual adherents who come online to learn their stuff can take offline to practice and apply in the real world. So it's not just a group of people reading stuff on the internet and carrying a gift bag of weird beliefs and a label.

They worry me because a lot of South African Satanists seem to follow their line. Race and racism has been a problem here before, so we don't need more. And we don't need Satan & Satanism tainted with it. Grrr!
Diane Vera noted though that they had a very comprehensive "theology" (satanlogy?) including wedding and other rituals, probably more so than any other Satanic resource.
"Joy of Satan" also sounds good. Which Satanist coud be against experienceing the joy of Satan? xD

Perhaps one should takethe name back and developa more complete and rational satanology elsewhere.

JOS is a platform for a movement that trandscends factions. Most of the info is for those new by Maxine's own words. Just to get you going and aware enough to learn more from the Gods. Their are offline JOS based covens. Due to the path being all about self mastery the JOS isn't as group oriented as some others. The individual is of more importance to them. That link Nar gave you is all you need to learn more. With or without comraderie.
