The Satanic Bible

The link above will take you to an uploaded copy of the Satanic Bible. It is presented as an online "book". I like the format and am considering using this format for the whole library. Please let me know what you think.

As far as these things are concerned, it is a pretty nifty format. However, I have an ethical problem with it. At the end of the day it is stealing. More importantly it does not say much for someone as a Satanist if they are not willing to fork over the $7.99 for a legit copy. I personally do not like to encourage this type of thing but that's me and you asked.

I think it looks pretty good.
In regards to ethics in any given situation I believe they change to benefit the individual and in addition to that I don't believe that anyone on Earth is 100 percent moraly or ethicaly clean but that's just my pessimistic opinion.

I already purchased the Satanic Bible so it wouldn't bother me at all to read it online had I been under the impression that it would make me any less of a Satanist. Besides, when I first read the Satanic Bible way back in 8th grade, I had downloaded it on Limewire. With a digital copy, I didn't have to worry about my uber-Christian family finding it and hiring an exorcist. I ended up buying it after I arrived in college. C'mon people, have you ever downloaded a song for free before?

I don't think the ability to purchase a book makes you a Satanist. I don't think owning the book makes you a Satanist, and I don't believe reading the book makes you a Satanist. Its how you apply what you've learned from it, if anything at all. Obtaining the book for free does not represent a lack of desire to be a Satanist. You can spend a million dollars on occult and Satanic books and it doesn't mean a thing. That's my opinion. Nice format by the way.

Yes, on a legally ethical side of what I did, it is considerably wrong. However, what I did is no different from the Library I had up (which will go back up when I get a new server up and running). With that, no one seemed to be very bothered by it...honestly, I get more questions of when it is down, than complaints of it being up. Like many others, I have a copy of the Satanic Bible. I purchased it 14 years ago in Hawaii when serving in the US Marines. However, what makes this copy being online any different than being in a physical library? Just as freely available to go and read until your heart is content. This version is just available anywhere, anytime.

I am of the mind set that information, regardless of its nature and origin, should be publicly available. If one wishes to own a copy of the physical material, then so be it...buy it.

OOOOHH!! I like it a great deal!! I can't tell you how many copies I have bought for myself to read, others express interest so have given them my copy. I can say that I have bought around 8-10 copies since the 80's. I had also downloaded an on line version, but it was messed up and incomplete. I have found having an on-line copy available for reference, while at the computer, to be a great asset. I have also known people who wanted to read it, but were unable to come up with the funds, for various reasons, to be able to buy a copy. I felt no remorse sending them a link or e-mail with the SB attached.
Thank you for making this book available to anyone who chooses to read it. Knowledge is power, as they say.
As you mentioned the legal side of this, how long is a copy write good for anyway? Just curious, since it was 1966 when the book was written. At some point in time, doesn't it become public domain? I don't know, so thought I would ask.
