There is so much I would never dream of telling my parents! Seriously, I don't see the point. They are both members of the Church of England, the Church in which I grew up. They know I don't attend anymore and assume that I am an atheist, just a 'phase' I'm going through. :-) They simply would not understand if I told them that I practiced witchcraft. I know my grandparents would demand that the vicar perform an immediate exorcism. :-))

My imediate family knows, (parents, husband), I have not gone out of my way to tell anyone, but I'm not really trying to hide it either.
That said, I don't talk about every aspect of my practice, just some of the stuff is in plain sight.

A few select individuals knew and almost all of my family knew. I had a falling out with Satanism a few months ago and in turn disavowed myself because I was tired of explaining to stupid, non-receptive people what the whole premise was. I am also getting my sixes removed and my baphomet removed as soon as the funds are available to do so. The only reason I hang out here is, a) there are interesting, non-judgmental people here and, b) even though I don't classify myself as a Satanist any more my life philosophy is still very much "Satanic". I'm kinda over wearing the "Bad Boy Badge", it serves no purpose. You can convey messages without drawing unnecessary attention to yourself and pissing people off.

I'm not trying to talk you out of your decision. This not a path for everyone. Sometimes I get tired of taking on the world...............but I have to be true to my own nature. I've tried to back off but nature wins out. In the end, I'm very happy being a full blown Satanist AND pissing people off.

i have a couple of cousins who know. All of my friends who ever bothered to ask know. The topic is slowly coming out at home. My girlfriend is semi- religous. Her oldest daughter thinks she's Christian because she goes to church 3 times a week. But i've never seen her crack open a Bible. i once offered her Biblical proof that God doesn't give a shit about women and she argued that the scriptures i quoted her weren't in the Bible. i ended up having to crack open mine and then make her read the portion that i was referring to. i think that my girlfriend is content to think that i'm simply an atheist. Every time her or her children attempt to delve into my beliefs, she gets scared and quickly changes the subject. Come to think of it, i encourage her children to read the Bible more than anyone else. Maybe if they actually do read it their minds will open up to all of the flaws and horrible shit held within, instead of just believing what some preacher tells them to.
As for my parents, they may never know. i don't think their fragile and slightly senile minds could handle it.

Isn't it simply horid how christians (and others...not just picking on the jesus freaks) target children? In my opinion it should be illegal to set foot in a church untill you are within you later teen years. It has been scientifically proven that a child's mind acts like a sponge as it grows and matures. Everything they see, hear and toutch gets committed to memory and is hadwired into thier little psyche's. In other words, if you could teach a child that the sky was green if you wanted too. That is if you applyed the information again and again (just as the churches do).
