We all pay a great deal of attention topolitics, but i the end little changes.
Luckily politicians, esp those who want to change things, tend to get distracted by what British Prime Minister Harold MacMillan called "events" (Journo to PM: What happened to stop u carrying out your mandate? PM: Events, dear boy. Events.)
I notice theObama fervour is burning lower. Here in Africa, hardly anyone still remembers him. Yet everyone partied when he got elected a year ago and when he was inaugurated. Hewas something of a "great black hope". Now it is back to the routine.
