My answer however is an emphatic NO! I'm of the mind that the world is so entirely full of shit that in order for me to tap into my inner "Adversary", I'm gonna be brutally honest. As we we all well know, religion, politics, advertising, media, accepted historical records, neighbors, friends, family , lovers, are all full of shit. So what better way to walk the path of the Adversary than to be honest? Use society's standard against them! You'd be absolutely amazed at what follows straight up honesty.
At the end of the day, most people will run for cover, however many will respect you for it and some yet will seek out your counsel. I personally feel it is my Satanic calling to be straight up.

The thing about lies isn't so much about what you tell other people, but about what you tell yourself. If you start believing your own lies, you run into issues. On the other hand, it is hard to lie to others without lying to yourself, so it is probably just better not to start down that path.

Look at all the other folks who are willing to lie to people.

The government lies. They killed President Kennedy, Bush stole the 2000 election with help from his cousin Jeb who, purely by coincidence, was governor of Florida (where all those questionable votes came from), and they invaded Iraq to "liberate" the Iraqi people.

The church lies. They tell people if you don't embrace their god you are going to burn in flames for all eternity after your death, they stole from other cultures' legends when writing the bible, and says that god is peaceful and loving (read up and you'll see this is wholly untrue).

Big Business lies. The corporate giants of the US all say they are pro-American and want to employ american workers, but when you call any customer support you get India. 90% of the electronics in this country are assembled in Mexico where those people are paid $5 a day to assemble the $3000 big screen TV your buddy just bought. 90% of the non electronic goods sold in America are made in China where they work those people like dogs and pay them just under what it takes to get by.

The Medical Community lies. They aren't truly looking for the cure to anything - be it cancer, A.I.D.S., or the common cold. Dr. Jonas Saulk (creator of the polio vaccine in the 1950's) taught the medical community one thing and one thing only - cures do not make money, the money is in research.

Hollywood lies. I know people whose whole scope of the occult is based on the movies they see and the TV programs they watch. I had a student once whose mother would refer to movies like "The Craft", "Witchboard", and the TV show "Supernatural" when trying to advise about using caution in occult endeavours.

The Media lies. While they may not tell outright lies, they do water down the truth, sugar coat facts, and water down information on 90% of the stories they report. They are not above the "outright, bold-faced" lies, but they do try to refrain from doing that too often.

Law Enforcement lies. Every year the fines and penalties they assess increase. They claim that it is designed to deter people from breaking laws, but we all know that they are looking to free you of the heavy burden of cash you might have and has nothing to do with keeping the publice safe.

The New Age Movement lies. They would lead you to believe that if you do indeed possess abilities beyond the norm that you should never use the abilities you have for your own gain, but instead should use them to help the world in general.

People in general lie. Women tend to lead men along so that they can get a free ride - you buy them what they want and get little or nothing in return. Men will tell women everything they want to hear just so they can stick their dicks in them and add to their "conquests". Either way, they decieve to get what they want.

So Sam, are these the kind of people you want to associate yourself with? By lying, you do. This is why I prefer the company of animals to humans - when a dog is happy to see you, it's because he's happy to see you. No hidden agenda or ulterior motives at all. When it comes to humans, I prefer to deal with children. Most children are brutally honest when expressing themselves - they don't understand concepts such as tact or deception. You asked and they will tell you.

Honesty is the best. Not everyone can take truth, but ultimately they are going to have to.

Sure folks. But I don't think there is anything wrong with lying. I simply never lie to young children or myself. Call it a moral if you like, I don't give a shit.

I'd lie to almost anybody if I thought it was a good idea for any number of reasons, but I'll be honest here for the sake of conversation.

This talk about being "honest" just doesn't make much sense to me. If you think you somehow are doing the "right thing" you're missing the point. The point in life is entertainment. George Carlin said that and I think he was right. Everything else is delusional hype. Propaganda or personal agendas climbing over each other for domination of your weak fucking minds. Grow a pair.

The Adversary? Based on what the fucking masses are doing? Associate me with ANY liar. I couldn't give a less of a shit about strangers opinions unless they serve a purpose.

Be creative. That's the idea. Not just doing the opposite of other people. How does it work for you? Does your appearance, actions, or thoughts inspire, compel, manipulate, control, drive or create reaction and change in a way that is beneficial to you?

Don't take me wrong here, I think it's great if there is some honesty out there. It's like a diamond in the rough... or a fart in church -it's not only funny it's refreshing. And goody good for you if it works for you. Me? I'd piss on your shoes and tell you it's raining... even if it was simply for my own personal entertainment.

One more thing... Anyone who thinks they have an idea of what to do to make the world a better place can go fuck themselves. Why? Because they always want to fuck someone with that kind of bullshit. "Honesty is the best policy"... You know who made that stinking pile up? A LIAR! Ay? Think about it. Every death of human beings on this planet makes it a better place. Every two-bit jack-off with honkey-dorey, lovey-dovey ideas of making the world a better place is a fucking moron with a BULLSHIT agenda. Not a bullshit agenda, an agenda of BULLSHIT. Sure, the world would be a better place if people were more honest. And you can rest assured I've done my part here for humanity this one time. But people are not honest, and everyone, including precious, special You, is a liar.

OK. I would just clear up one point on my own behalf, I am not honest for the sake of a better world. I am honest becuase that makes ME better than the other primates in the room and they know it. It serves my purposes.and is a point of continuous amusment that in a room full of sunday morning pew warmers that the Satanist is the only person in the room to count on for a straight up answer.
I understand and do not begrudge the other side. It just works for me and in the end, It's all about what works for the individual in question.

Well, that's very nice. But as a Satanist, one who takes pride in the "bad guy" label - that's why it's called SATANISM - I like to let fools think I'm not better then them. Let their little heads flow with delusions of what I'm really like when nobody is looking, ya know? That I'm much worse then them. Give them a reason to be so fucking righteous. I do this by being honest at times, but also, if I so desire, act exactly the way people think I'd act. It all depends on who I'm working on. I might not even let them know I'm a Satanist. But if I see the opportunity, maybe a religious prick who needs a psychological ass kicking, I'll give em all the Evil they ask for. Gives them comfort. Keeps them nice and soft, like clay I can mold into new forms. Raw material, FRESH MEAT.

And I'll lead em down that path, knowing damn well where it ends. What they think about me is important in the sense that they are thinking what I want them to think. However, I'm sure you know this already.

As for being "better" . . . I'll leave that to the religiously smug.

Way early on in this thread, I said that the stock Satanic answer would be that lying is absolutely acceptable if it serves the individual need. I understand, accept, and do not judge that. I for my own reasons choose not lie whenever humanly possible. That's part of MY Satanic path.
As for your assesment of our culture's mating customs, DEAD ON! In respect to that, personally I've always gravitated towards females that have less "primping". Somehow women in western culture got bulldozed into makeup, heels, waxing and what have you. Raw deal but there none the less.
As for marriage, I would only recomend it for the one in a million that find their "soul mate". ONE IN A MILLION. Otherwise shack up if you must and split when the rush wears down.
